Well I don´t have a ton to say because of mothers day but I hope the 100 pics i sent make up for it. Today was probably one of the best p-days because my mom said she was satisfied this week because of the pics. So now I learned how to make her happy.

The only news that I had was this morning we woke up early and went and hiked the pico dejaragua. It was super cool.


On the way I finally fulfilled a dream of touching a monkey so that was pretty cool. Man it was such a cool hike. It was like walking through the jungle to get up there. 

There was so many of those banana spiders that I had to walk a little ducked down to not get attacked again. When i return home those Utah spiders are going to be nothing.

When I hear shari screaming (while Phil is working of course, other wise he would) I will run to the rescue and smash the spider with my bare hand.

So sorry for not creating an  email this last week I ran out of time on my account and didn´t have any more money so this week I will write before I read any of my emails. Man but you don´t know how much I want to read that email that my mom sent me. Oh look Breanna wrote me as well, this week I can tell will be a week of miracles hehehe. Love ya Breanna.

So lets see where to start. Last p-day we went to play base ball, man it was so fun! I haven´t enjoyed baseball so much in my whole life. I think I like playing more here probably because I suck at the sport but who I was playing with is even worse.

We had a conference this last week that was super cool. It helped us a lot. With that talk that I heard I wrote my homecoming talk so yes Bishop I am ready to give that talk. I don´t have a deathly fear of giving talks anymore. 

We had 2 miracles this last week. We have a lady that we have been trying to meet with forever and this last sunday we finaly talked to her! Man this lesson was so dang spiritual and good! She has gone to church a lot in the past and had tons of missionaries talk to her in the past so we marked her date for this weekend. Her name is Gloria and man she is cool. I will send a pic of her all dressed in white this next week.

We have a new rule in our mission that we need to knock 80 doors every freaking day. It sucks but president promised us that if we do it we will have a lot more baptisms. We found a family of 3 names: Dayana, Livia, and Eurie. We met them on saturday they went to church on sundayand LOVED it and really want us to come back and teach them more. They will be super solid! I am super happy how this last week turned out. We as a companionship are getting along a lot better and we are able to have the spirit with us once more.

I know this email is a little short for 2 Weeks but to tell you the truth I will talk to my family in 5 days so I don´t feel too bad at all.

No just kidding I think my mom would kill me if I did that. 

Man this last week I had such a cool experience on a division that I did! I went with Elder Jones and we walked a ton because the day wasn´t planned out very well, I think I walked the most I have ever walked on my entire mission this day! Man, so we entered into a lesson with a lady with I don´t know how many years. Man this lesson was like 1 hour long and the first 50 min were just trash and we were like man just do what is right you know what is right. She got up to answer the phone and I was super mad so I stood up got my bag and said to my comp lets just leave when she isn´t here. Luckily I realized that was a stupid idea. She came back in and the words president told me came into my head how he said to listen to the spirit and teach what she needs not what I think she needs. I said a quick little prayer to help me and just started talking. Man I think this was one of the most humbling and spiritual experiences I have had on my mission. I started to cry after she started to cry and it was just so crazy. The Lord just let me feel a little of the love that he has for this girl and that he wants the best for her. Man it was a very cool experience.

So on sunday we went and taught our recent convert Antonio and his entire family about the restoration and man it went so well. Their family is so dang cool. I didn´t know in advanced but they bought pizza for us. I felt a little bad because it was sunday and all but oh well I guess. On sunday the 4 biggest soccer teams in Brazil played and after anyone scored there were a ton of fireworks and people driving in their cars honking their horns out of anger and happiness. Man it was so cool people are so passionate about their sports here.

I crave mexican food

Man I can`t tell you how good a Cafe Rio burrito sounds right now. You would think that after 6 months of eating beans and rice I wouldn´t want them anymore but just the opposite, That´s all I want. Man I think I might get fat here in Brazil I eat so much. I walk a ton as well but I eat only crap food. I am scared. 

This last week we worked a ton but wasn´t very fruitful. For this next week we will be focusing a lot more on finding new people to teach because all the people we have aren´t progressing very much and need to get married which is super hard.

It is a little hard to work at times with my companion because he is super trunky and has lost a ton of his desire to work. Luckily we are still able to get along for the most part, we don´t argue. We are still able to get work done but we could be doing so much more. we aren´t fulfilling our whole potential that we could be doing which is sad because we only have 2 years and it passes fast ya need to take advantage of every minute you have. I do really enjoy working with him though because during lessons we teach together, he doesn´t make me feel like a useless junior companion like my last. I am learning a lot on how to be a good leader from him.

Anyways enough with the boring just me ranting off part. This last week we had a bunch of cool lessons with a family with 1 crazy drunk 1 less active that is married to the crazy man and their less active daughter who needs to get married and her cousin who has a date marked in 2 weeks to get baptized. This last week we had a super spiritual lesson that was going super well and right when the lesson was at a spiritual high and we were about to mark the baptism date the drunk crazy dad came in and started yelling at me and my comp. He saw me and said oh you are american and he started using all the 6 English words he knew which were not very nice words. Then he started praying and crying to God for help to save his soul. His wife was finally able to pull him out. Luckily after all that craziness we were able to pull everything back together and mark a date. They all except for the Less active daughter and the drunk went to church this last Sunday and loved it. I am hoping that The daughter Nina will get married because she really loves the church and has been going for like 2 months now just needs to get married or separate. 

That`s all that really happened that was super exciting this last week but for my papi I will explain the streets of Brazil. It is quite entertaining to walk around here there is always something new going on or some crazy drunk being crazy. On average while walking I see a bunch of drunk's stray dogs, got to watch out for those they don´t like us, women that silly them forgot to put clothes on over their underwear i think it´s the heat it just makes them forget, tons of trash but it is good sometimes you find cool stuff, and city workers sleeping under their car. It is very entertaining to walk in the streets here you find something new every day!

Well, once again, not too much has been happening this past week. There are always little miracles here and there, and it just helps to know that the Lord is in the details. It's so weird to think about how involved the Lord can get in even the tiniest part of our lives while still leaving our choice intact. I think about that quite a bit. But, we had some great experiences nonetheless.

This last week being conference and all was a little crazy. Our stake president called us and wanted us to go and visit a ton of less actives and invite them to go to conference, We did and found one family that was pretty cool. Their names are Nina and her husband which I forgot the name. Give me a break I have only met them once. She said man I was wanting to go to church and praying for help and then you guys showed up. She really really wants to become a member of the church but the only problem is she isn´t married. Her man doesn´t want to get married but she does way super bad so please pray to have his heart be softened so that they can get married. They are so cool, I don´t get why no one wants to get married here, it is ridiculous. 

 

Well I was told i have to hurry and send my letter so that´s all the stories I have to share for this week but here is one more little thing I was told I thought was pretty cool.

This is some advice I was given and I really liked it sorry if it is a little broken English but I thought it was really cool and wanted to share it because I think it can be used in lots of stuff in our lives: 

There is a lot to be said about the group and their preparation and also your willingness to treasure up and then open your mouth and trust that the Spirit will guide. As long as the spirit is guiding you will feel it. When you revert to your own will or strength or mind we loose. Try it! Treasure up but let the spirit put into your mind and heart what to say in the moment. You will need to trust it is not so easy.
