ultima semana

Last weeks baptism of Bianca. I forgot to send the pic

Hey everybody, it has been an amazing week, don't get me wrong it has it's ups and downs just as every week does, but i swear that every week in the mission is better and "da da da da da i am lovin it"! (McDonalds) I decided to site that so McDonalds doesn´t sue me.

This last week, like many, was very tiring, but in a good way. It´s a good feeling to come home dead knowing that you gave it your 100% just exhausted wanting to sleep. It makes me feel like I am not wasting my service to God.

So this last week we have been trying to really trying to teach the parents of all the people that has kids that have been baptized. We from this found a family that is super cool and all were supposed to be baptized but the mom the morning of Sunday had a super big fever so she went to the hospital. Man it sucks how Satin tries to block everything. We did though without her, as she requested baptized her 2 kids Kevin and Nicole. We also have been teaching the mom of our recent convert, Anderson, but she has a huge problem with drinking. She wakes up every morning with a hang over but she did as she promised and at least brought Anderson to church and then picked him up after.

We have got a really good system going where at night we teach all of the people that are progressing and in the morning and afternoon we just focus on finding news. We find so many news that we made a filter system and only keep the ones that go to church and if they don´t we just leave them with the address of the church and a Book of Mormon. I know that that may seem a little harsh but to be honest we don´t have time to teach people that aren´t ready for the gospel because there is so many other people that are already prepared.

well love you all and have a nice week and remember to talk to everyone and always be worthy and ready to talk about the Gospel!

Hello Northern America

Hello Northern America, how are you all up in the heat of summer. I am finally happy to say that I have stopped sweating. I think is the first time in like 9 months. I feel like super weird, now when I drink water I actually have to use the bathroom. Before I just drank like 2 liters of water and it just disappeared.

Today has been a really cool day. I feel like me and my companion today really connected, we have been having a lot of fun with some nerf guns that my sister sent for me. Today we also made an amazing lunch for only R$21 so that was super cheap. I feel like when I get home from my mission I will be able to live on $100 for like a month.

This last week was super cool. Remember that kid Anderson that we baptized this last week yeah well we have been working a ton with him lately and he is helping a ton. He has been talking to all of his friends and telling them all about how cool the church is and that they need to go to church with him. I feel a little bad because all of the parents of these kids are druggies and their brains are just broken but I feel like these kids are like the army of Helaman. There was 5 of his friends that went to church this last week and one that was baptized. The one that was baptized, her name is Bianca.

So with that baptism happened a mess. So our ward mission leader is very old and forgets everything. So he turned on the water to fill up the font but left it on after the baptism and we thought that it was already off so we didn´t turn it off. Well long story short it was left on for the whole night and half of the church was flooded. So mom I will be needing you to send about 200 dollars for repairs. No Jk but we got a call Sunday morning at about 5 from our bishop saying it flooded so we went super early to clean up. The only part we weren´t able to get was the sacrament room because it has carpet there. We took everything out after church was over and bishop will get some company to come and dry the carpet. It was super exciting... It is the 7th time this has happened in this ward I guess but this time was the worst because it was over night. Yeah lets just say the ward wasn´t very happy with us this last week, I think we will get some poison in our food for lunch...

Well that was my adventure this last week I will talk to ya all this next week.

This last week was pretty neat

cool pic my comp took of part of our area

our baptisms and the enormous family that came with the little girl
Well this last week was pretty normal. sorry this email won´t be very exciting, if you want you can just wait until next week and it may be better. In our area we are having a lot of trouble finding new investigators. We have a bunch of investigators but only a few that are progressing.

We with one family that was super bummy, we found another family that I guess the missionaries taught a bunch in the past but just all of a sudden just stopped teaching them. So we went there and the boy, when we talked about baptism, got super excited and wanted to be baptized. He was baptized this last Sunday and his brothers and cousin I believe will be ready this next week.

Last Sunday at our other baptisms we had a little girl that has been going to church for a long time come up to us and say when will I be baptized. She is 8 years old but only her sister is a member so we went to her house taught her and her family the lessons and she was baptized this last Sunday and her whole family went to church with her so that was super good.

We had a guy named Paulo Cesar that was super cool. He is one of those investigators that is super cool but never progresses. We this last week kinda gave him his last chance to go to chruch or be dropped. He wouldn´t go to church because he said he was tired so we decided to drop him. Man that is the worst part on the mission dropping people that you really like but aren´t progressing.

The Work of the Lord is amazing!

I love you all!!!

Thanks Shari me and my comp have competitions with these guns.
It´s a great way to pass the time at night.

new apartment

yeah it is bad all the dirtyness just won´t leave, today we tried to scrub it but it is just stained in

my last comp finally emailed the photo of our last baptism togeather. We oficialy baptised that entire family!
If I come back to visit Brazil I will be staying with this family. I love this family

man the mission is awesome

This last week was crazy we were kinda running all over the place because I didn´t know the area and my comp is super new to the mission. I feel like president put me training so that I will be forced to learn how to teach like crazy! In just in this one week have learned and improved more than I have in my whole mission. It is a little quiet living with just 2 people I feel like this is good for me though so I can learn to keep a conversation going. I feel like after the mission the only thing I will talk about is my mission and everyone will think I am super annoying but oh well just deal with it!

In this new area I came here and most of our investigators were super bummy so we kinda got rid of a bunch. This area we don´t have a ton of investigators yet so we are finding like crazy! We found one lady that has the name of Suely and she liked us a lot. She had a huge problem with smoking and wanted to quit so she gave us all of her cigarettes and then the next day we passed there and she yelled at us and called us the devil and that she will never stop smoking. I was pretty confused not going to lie. So yeah we dropped her but got a ton of cigarettes out of it so yeah oh wait we don´t smoke oh yeah so we got nothing out of it. We had a fun time destroying all of the cigarettes. To do that we thought the most logical way would be to make a huge fire and burn them all but for some reason that just didn´t feel right so we just broke them all.

destruction of cigarettes

We have a area here that a bunch of people illegally built houses on a land that is owned by a company and it is now like a little city there that is super poor. We had a lot of people living there that we were teaching but now the owner of that area is wanting his land back so the entire police squad went there and it was pretty much a huge war between the drug lords and the police. So something tells me that it isn´t that great of an idea to work over there for now. I will send pics of that area it is pretty cool.

our 2 baptisms of Tiago and Danielie
Tiago is a guy that travels a ton for his work and the missionaries have been trying to get him for ever so we did a devision and waited for him to get home, did the interview and baptized him like 1 hour after he got off the plane haha. Dany is a person that has been going to church for ever and I was like hey why aren´t you baptized yet she said oh I don´t know, don´t feel ready. Read the story of the 3000 that were baptized in the same day they were taught in the bible and said hmm did these people prepare a lot? no we are baptized because God commanded it not because we want to.

Tiago and Danielie

this is Alisson. I know you think that is a girls name, but here oh yeah it´s a girls name here as well. I think his parents are crazy.... no but this kid is super cool he was the only one in his family who wasn´t baptized and we went over there gave a lesson of fire did his interview and he was baptized. It was very spiritual after the baptism I walked into the bathroom where he was changing and he was kneeling, praying, thanking the lord for his wonderful family. Man that kid is awesome!
